Can't wait for Darktide in a couple of months. If you've tried everything above and can't get enough couch co-op fun, you might consider one of these games.ĭysmantle for $20 ( PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, PC ): Enlist a friend to help you survive on a monster-infested island by destroying things and scavenging resources. Right up there with L4D2, Vermintide 2, Portal 2. Since beating the game I've been struggling to find something as good to play in co-op and come to the realization that DS3 is one of my all time favorite co-op games. I understand co-op DS3 removes some of the tense standoff moments against enemies but maybe those moments would occur more in the Pure Survival mode(which should have been unlocked from the start imo).Īs a co-op action horror game DS3 blew it out of the water and exceeded my expectations for a 2 player campaign. I liked Dead Space 1 and 2 but never found them as "scary" as most people claim they are, all three games have jump scares and the fast necromorphs in DS3 gave me just as many issues as the ones in DS1 did. That's not to say the game doesn't have its flaws the flying on rails bits and grappling/repelling were annoying at times and the backtracking in the final couple of chapters felt unnecessary. Love that kind of stuff, reminds me of Deep Rock Galactic fixing oil pipes and mules.) ( edit: THE PUZZLES! I forgot about the puzzles and the general "fixing shit with stasis" is still there. Also the action scenes were very well made to include your co-op partner. The gunplay felt great and just as meaty/heavy hitting as the other games. The graphics were outstanding and it ran amazing at 120fps 1440p on my PC. I was shocked to see how well the game holds up for being nearly a decade old. It was an incredible experience and we ended up finishing a hard campaign in 17 hours over the course of 3 days. I never played Dead Space 3 until my brother and I started it last week.
